TREASURED MEMORIES ARE MADE AT DEERHURST RESORT

Story and Photos by Pamela A. Campbell

Start with an aromatherapy steam bath, it's always a relaxing 'warm-up' and really puts you in the spa mood. And if you need reassurance about the Ancient Dead Sea Mud Treatment, here it is - I relish the connection with nature, to experience the energy coursing through my body as it absorbs the cleansing particles from the mud. The best part is showering off the caked mud to reveal skin so soft and smooth you vow to keep it as part of your regimen for the rest of your spa life. (I can't recall if I did confess these feelings to Ariane, my therapist, but I know she would approve).

Deerhurst Resort is located in Huntsville, Ontario, Canada, approximately two and a half hours from Toronto.

SpasA Swedish massage is on my 'repeat' list for this spa. Relaxation is the ultimate goal once you're on the table, but it's the technique that makes it so special. It starts with the kneading strokes, followed by intense motion to iron out the kinks, but it's the 'vibration' that Ted uses to enter every crevice and loosen each knot that finally makes a fan of me. And remember the overall benefits to the skin - improved blood circulation, elasticity and restored moisture balance.

I highly recommend Reflexology, Shiatsu Massage, Body Polish and Salt Glow. Facials are just as beneficial to men as they are to women. And if you must leave the spa looking like you stepped out of Vogue magazine, there is also a full service beauty salon.
