(NC)-If you have always wanted to perfect the art of entertainment at holiday time, there may be no better coach - and no better seasonal inspiration - than the annual Christmas In November event at the Jasper Park Lodge.
This festive workshop in the Canadian Rockies is scheduled in the first two weeks of November every year. Participants choose any two- or three-day segments for a chance to interact with notable chefs, designers and decorators from across North America. In small, personalized groups you are privy to their techniques, suggestions, and to their best-kept secrets for dazzling guests during the holidays. Since the Yuletide in Canada is a celebration drawn from a wide variety of cultural influences, you are also welcome to introduce a few traditions of your own.
The daily line-up provides ample time for socializing as well. In addition to workshops with florists, chefs and artists, and learning about fine wines, there is plenty of time-out to rejuvenate in the resort's luxurious spa. Or take a horse-drawn wagon ride in the cool pine-scented air. Jasper Park Lodge recreates the ambiance of a frontier Christmas in its lakeside, period-decorated cabins.
If you are lucky enough to live in Western Canada, this event has become an annual getaway for mothers and daughters and friends of all generations. For 17 years, the resort has hosted November arrivals from all over the world - and most of them include the historic rail journey right through the Rocky Mountains.
