TRAVEL BENEFITS FROM MINDSPA

By Merle Exit

Most of us have experienced at least one treatment at a spa, defined as a place to relax and rejuvenate our bodies.  Massages, body wraps and facials are great for both the skin and stress, while pedicures and manicures lend themselves more toward looks.  Are there treatments for the mind?

I once heard someone give a description of the mind.  “The mind is a linear arrangement of multi-sensory total records of successive moments of NOW.” There’s no wonder that we are so…I can’t think of the word…wait! Let’s grab the MindSpa, one of a latest invention.  I’ll plug the blue light glasses and earphones into the unit and do an “Alpha Recharge”, a 10-minute program that, due to the light and sound tones, should both relax and wake up my brain. It says that I can control the brightness of the lights as well as the volume of the tones. Great. I’ll just close my eyes.

Good.  My mind feels much better.  As I was saying…we are so engrossed with the idea that we are losing our memories that we tend to forget how much data our minds have absorbed over the years.  Excuse me. I need to check my email…must forward this one. Hmm…did I send out my bills?

Sorry, back to the article. It says here that the MindSpa, based upon solid scientific principle, “utilizes specifically tuned frequencies of light and gentle sound to shift the mind into one of two major states depending upon desired outcome: either a deeply relaxed state, also known as the alpha state, or the beta state; a state of cognitive stimulation and focus.”

Now that’s what I need. I’m going to put the white light glasses on and remove the plastic piece that’s blocks the outside world. In other words, I’m keeping my eyes open so I can finish this article.  This particular program says that it’s for mental sharpness and has been frequently used for people with ADD.

What is the difference between the CrystalWhite and CalmBlue led glasses?

“White provides full spectrum light which is effective for relaxation, imagery and visualization. They are bright enough to be used under nearly all lighting conditions and great for day or evening use. Our CalmBlue glasses are excellent for late night use, use with hypnosis or relaxation CDs, and for use with those sensitive to bright light. Recent scientific evidence suggests that specific frequencies of blue light are effective for sleep and jet lag.”

The MindSpa package is both light in weight and small enough to place in your carry-on bag. Think of the power naps you take on the airplane.  Let’s say that you’re traveling to another country and need some grasp of the language.  You can plug in a language CD and along with the light patterns and low volume tone patterns, have your mind in a state to learn as well as retain the information.  Perhaps you need to brush up on something in a book or nix the tones altogether and listen to your favorite music.

It is highly suggested that you use the MindSpa at least three times per week and some programs each day.  After all you do take a shower and brush your teeth every day.

The MindSpa, which sports a cost of $279, includes both glasses. While you may either be thinking that it’s “too good to be true” or skeptical about the whole thing, it’s backed by their guarantee: “We would like you to purchase with full confidence. We guarantee complete customer satisfaction and back our promise with a full, money back guarantee. Within the first 90 days of use, you may return it for any reason whatsoever, no questions asked!”
